چکیده

The performance of a cold-bonding pelletization process was investigated for lightweight aggregates (LWAs) production from municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) fly-ash (FA), by including multiple materials in the aggregate mixture. Before pelletization, FA pre-treated washing with water, which led to reduction chloride (66.79%) and sulphate (25.30%) content. This further confirmed XRF XRD analyses, showed elements content chlorine crystalline phases. carried out using both single- double-step methods. For single-step all mixtures contained 80% FA, combined various compositions cement (5, 10, 15%) granulated blast furnace slag (GBFS) 15%). 30% 70% marble sludge (MS) were added each previous mixtures. apparent density varied between 1.60 1.87 g cm−3, suggesting their suitability be classified as LWAs. Aggregates produced improved characteristics, water absorption capacity open porosity generally lower compared corresponding pelletization. best values compressive (crushing) strength (almost 11 MPa) observed initial cement: GBFS mixture 15%:5%. Results leaching tests an overall significant release sulphate. Nevertheless, reduced 1.73-4.02 times 1.58-5.67 sulphate, that better performances are achievable through addition second layer.

Phosphorus recovery from municipal solid waste incineration fly ash.

The potential of phosphorus (P) recycling from municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) residue is investigated. Vast and ever increasing amounts of incineration residues are produced worldwide; these are an environmental burden, but also a resource, as they are a major sink for the material flows of society. Due to strict environmental regulations, in combination with decreasing landfilling s...

Leachability of Heavy Metals from Lightweight Aggregates Made with Sewage Sludge and Municipal Solid Waste Incineration Fly Ash

Lightweight aggregate (LWA) production with sewage sludge and municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) fly ash is an effective approach for waste disposal. This study investigated the stability of heavy metals in LWA made from sewage sludge and MSWI fly ash. Leaching tests were conducted to find out the effects of MSWI fly ash/sewage sludge (MSWI FA/SS) ratio, sintering temperature and sinteri...

Environmental Management of Fly Ash Produced from the Incineration of Municipal Solid Waste

Incineration is a widely used and well established technology for the municipal solid waste (MSW) management. Modern MSW incineration plants are equipped with improved air pollution control (APC) systems, which reduce pollutants well below the established limits. The environmental concern has, thus, moved from the air emissions to the solid residues generated from the APC systems of the inciner...

Carbonation of Municipal Solid Waste Incineration Fly Ash and the Impact on Metal Mobility

Fly ash from municipal solid waste incineration ~MSWI! is considered as hazardous waste that calls for a robust, reliable, and reasonable treatment technique. This investigation aims to assess the impact of CO2 partial pressure, water addition, time, and temperature on the stabilization of MSWI fly ash with particular emphasis on Pb, Zn, Cd, and Cr. Carbonation and element mobility were studied...

Solidification and Biotoxicity Assessment of Thermally Treated Municipal Solid Waste Incineration (MSWI) Fly Ash

In the present work, thermal treatment was used to stabilize municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) fly ash, which was considered hazardous waste. Toxicity characteristic leaching procedure (TCLP) results indicated that, after the thermal process, the leaching concentrations of Pb, Cu, and Zn decreased from 8.08 to 0.16 mg/L, 0.12 to 0.017 mg/L and 0.39 to 0.1 mg/L, respectively, which well ...
